The Lawrence Community Theatre plans auditions at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for “Red Herring,” by Michael Hollinger.

The show combines three love stories, a murder mystery and a nuclear espionage plot in a comedy about marriage and other explosive devices. The year is 1952, and Joe McCarthy’s daughter just got engaged to a Soviet spy, while Boston detective Maggie Pelletier has to find out who dumped the dead guy in the harbor – or lose out on a honeymoon.

The cast will include three women and three men, most of whom play multiple parts, with ages ranging from 20s through 60s.

The show is under the direction of Jeanne Chinn. It will open March 2 and run through March 12.
