Pull out the sunglasses - mostly clear skies and temperatures warming up to 50 degrees are expected today for the Lawrence area, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

Temperatures will slowly climb through the 40s most of the day, with blustery northwest winds, she said.
At 8 a.m. today, Lawrence's temperature was 41 degrees, the humidity was 73 percent and winds were from the northwest at 22 mph, making the wind chill 31 degrees.
"Enjoy the sunshine," Schack said.
Today's winds, which have been gusting this morning about 30 mph, will diminish this afternoon to 10 to 20 mp. The winds will bring in cloudy skies tonight and on Thursday, she said.
Schack said Thursday's morning low will be 28 degrees, with the high climbing to 41 degrees. Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Friday's morning low will be 21 degrees, with the high climbing to 44 degrees, under mostly sunny skies, she said.
