— It took two overtimes, but Baldwin (4-1) notched a hard-earned, high-scoring road victory Tuesday night, 82-79, over Ottawa (5-1). Blake Wieden led all scorers with 21.

Oskaloosa boys 45, McLouth 42

Oskaloosa - Cody Heston scored 22 points, helping Oskaloosa (3-3) overcome a 12-point third-quarter deficit.

"One thing we needed to do was find a post presence and we did. Cody had a great game inside," Oskie coach Tracy Kutscher said. "He gave us an awesome game. Our man to man picked it up, and we got after it and forced turnovers."

Lansing 48, Tonganoxie 40

Lansing - Jeff Hughes scored 11 for Tonganoxie (0-6).

K.C. Ward 73, Perry-Lecompton 60, OT

Perry - Gabe Gantz scored 14 for Perry-Lecompton (1-4).

Atchison 52, Santa Fe Trail 42

Carbondale - Brian Shively, Chris Sadler and Jake Carter each scored eight for Santa Fe Trail (2-3).

Girls

Baldwin 54, Ottawa 35

Ottawa - Karessa Lewis scored 10, but Ottawa's girls (3-3) fell despite outscoring Baldwin in the second half.

Santa Fe Trail 57, Atchison 33

Carbondale - Three players scored in double figures for Santa Fe Trail.

Tonganoxie 60, Lansing 43

Lansing - Ali Pistora scored 20 for Tongie (6-0).

There must be a lot more subscribers in Ottawa than in Baldwin.

BHS girls win by 19 points and the one sentence says that Ottawa lost and one of their girls scored ten points.

Maybe it takes too much ink to print the three Baldwin girls in double figures.
