Jury deliberations continue in baby’s death

? Jurors in the murder trial of a woman accused of cutting off her baby’s arms deliberated for a third day on Friday, even asking the judge to define “deliberation.”

The jury in McKinney had deliberated for two days in the trial of Dena Schlosser, 37, before sending a note Thursday to State District Judge Chris Oldner saying they couldn’t agree on a verdict. Oldner urged them to keep trying.

Among the notes sent to the judge Friday was a request for him to define “deliberation” and the precise role of a juror. Oldner read the answers from Black’s Law Dictionary.

Jurors also asked to rehear testimony from Schlosser’s husband that his wife had called to tell him she had cut off their daughter’s arms. John Schlosser had testified that he didn’t believe her at first.

Schlosser pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in the death of her 10-month-old daughter, Margaret.
