Building collapses; casualties feared

— A six-story building housing a garment factory, shops and offices collapsed in Bangladesh's capital today, and many people were trapped inside, a fire official said.

No casualties were immediately reported.

The building collapsed in Dhaka's central Tejgaon industrial district, fire brigade official Syed Hossain Khan told The Associated Press.

A rescue operation has been launched, he said but did not elaborate.
