¢ MAYB Champs: A group of eighth-grade boys from Lawrence went unbeaten and won a MAYB tournament last weekend in Kansas City, Mo. Team members are Scott Brenn, Mark Laskowski, Michael McCabe, Jed Bovorik, Drake DeBiasse, Nick Hassig, Ryan Scott and Coulter Vestal.

¢ Bellinger With Champs: Joe Bellinger of Lawrence, a member of the Southwestern College men’s basketball team, helped the Moundbuilders end their regular season with a 25-3 record and win the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference championship. Bellinger, a 6-foot-5 forward who spent the last two years at Seward County CC, has played in all 28 games as a reserve and is averaging 3.7 points a game.

¢ Rugby Scrimmage: Junior Jayhawks U-19 rugby will play host to a scrimmage at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Westwick Complex. Interested players and parents are invited. For information, call John Frick at 331-7100.

¢ Morris Hole-in-One: John Morris, assistant golf pro at Eagle Bend Golf Course, aced a par-three hole at Hideaway GC in Palm Springs, Calif. Jim Kane, head pro at Eagle Bend, witnessed the ace.
