Free throws hurt HINU
Oklahoma Wesleyan sank 36 of 47 free throws, and Haskell Indian Nations University shot 10-for-15 from the charity stripe.
Add that up, and still OWU won by just one point, 74-73, in women’s basketball Saturday.
“That’s too many free shots for any game,” HINU coach Phil Homeratha said. “Last game of the year … it’s kind of a shame, because we played real hard.”
Samantha Pete drilled seven three-pointers on the way to a team-high 24 points for the Fightin’ Indians (14-14), whose season is likely finished.
