KU baseball routed, 10-1

? Ritchie Price broke up a no-hit bid by Southern California’s Ian Kennedy with two outs in the ninth inning, a small feat in an otherwise dismal 10-1 Kansas University baseball loss to the Trojans on Friday at Dedeaux Field.

Kennedy struck out 13 batters and walked just three in 82â3 innings and was one hitter away from throwing a no-hitter. But Price singled to center field, and KU tacked on two more hits and a run after Kennedy was pulled in favor of Ryan Schlack.

Sean Land (2-1) suffered the loss for the Jayhawks, giving up six runs in 42â3 innings. Kennedy improved to 2-1 and lowered his earned-run average to 1.70 on the season.

KU (6-3) will continue play in the Public Storage Baseball Classic with a game against San Diego today.
