Samantha Pete of Haskell Indian Nations University has been named Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference co-women’s player of the week.

Pete, a 5-foot-7 guard from Shiprock, N.M., averaged 25.7 points as the Fightin’ Indians posted a 2-1 record. She scored 28 points in victories over Peru State and Newman, and 21 in a loss to Central Christian.

HINU is 6-6 in the MCAC and 13-12 overall. The Indians will play Friday at College of the Ozarks.
