Former senator named to state banking board

February 12, 2006

— Wint Winter, a former state senator from Lawrence, has been appointed by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to the Kansas State Banking Board.

Winter, who served in the state Senate from 1982 to 1992, is currently chief executive officer and president of Peoples Bank in Lawrence.

Sebelius also appointed Michael Downing, president of the Ellis State Bank; and Melvin Minor of Stafford, who is a former legislator and had served as a board member of the St. John National Bank for 20 years.

The state bank board's duty is to ensure confidence in the state-chartered banking industry. Each appointee will serve a four-year term.

I think ya'll are on to a grand old conspiracy, here.

Maybe if you keep up posting about it here, Wint will be shamed into doing something really stupid just to verify his GOP bona fide's.
