Houston ? Alvamar Golf Course superintendent Dick Stuntz fired a 1-under-par 72 on Sunday, good for the first-round lead at the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America national championships at Redstone Club.

Chris Webster, superintendent at Lakeside Country Club in Houston, fired an even-par 72 and is in second place. The tourney will run through Tuesday.
