Olathe ? The Free State High boys and girls bowling teams each earned a split Thursday during three-team matches at Mission Bowl.

The boys dropped 2,372 pins, good enough for a victory against Shawnee Mission Northwest, but short of Olathe North’s total.

Tyler Bradshaw paced the Firebirds (4-2) with a 616 series.

The Free State girls finished with 1,751 pins, topping Shawnee Mission Northwest for their first victory of the season.

But the Firebirds fell to Olathe North.

Melissa Burnside’s 505 series led the Firebirds (1-5).

Next for both squads is Tuesday’s showdown against Lawrence High at Royal Crest Lanes.
