¢ Brawner Winner: Tonganoxie’s Wally Brawner won and Eudora’s Paul Heitzman was third in the Jayhawk Invitational Masters 800 Saturday in Anschutz Sports Pavilion. Brawner, 66, ran a time of 2:53.05. Heitzman, 74, was clocked in 2:57.41.

¢ KU Baseball Camps: Kansas University baseball is accepting reservations for its Spring Break youth camp. KU is also conducting youth camps on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday nights. For information, call 864-7907.

¢ Mat Medalists: Korbin Harrell, Aaron Rosenstengle and Jeremy Finnestad of Lawrence Coyotes Wrestling Club earned gold medals in youth meets last weekend. Silver medals went to Andy Jones, Dom Reiske, Dakota Holcolm, Deakon Frentrop, Sam Rosenstengle, Payton Covert, Keenan Wycoff, Dalton Janz, Kyle Osinski, Cody Dexter and Jerome Reeves-Mullins. Bronze medals were earned by J.J. Abernathy, Collin Decker, Mitch McCune, Shelby Bowman and Ethan Janz.

¢ Groundhog Gold: Lawrence’s Dee Boeck and Richard Frienser earned age-group first-places in Sunday’s Groundhog Run 10K in Kansas City, Mo. Lawrence’s D.J. Hilding won his age group in the 5K. Other city top-three placers were Teri Oberzan, Keith Dowell, Marcy Vickers and Jodie Smith. Also earning medals were Tonganoxie’s Kelly Gonetsky and Wally Brawner.

¢ Reaney Sparkles: Emma Reaney of the Aquahawks earned four firsts and a second in the Midwest All-Stars swim meet Jan. 14-15 at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center. The Aquahawks’ Morgan Flannigan picked up a third-place medal.

¢ Grabill Shines: Phoebe Grabill of the Lawrence Aquhawks captured four first-places at the COOL Invitational swim meet Jan. 20-22 in Olathe. Teammates Nathan Evers and Maddie McCaffrey won three golds apiece. Single-event winners were Courtney Caldwell and Hunter Robinson.

¢ LHS Soccer Clinic: Lawrence High’s girls soccer players and coaching staff will conduct a clinic for youths in grades 2-8 on Feb. 11 and Feb. 18 in the LHS gym. For information, call Matt Anderson at 832-5050.

¢ Hole-In-One: Dan Grover used a 7-iron to hit a hole-in-one on the 149-yard eighth hole Wednesday at Alvamar Country Club. The shot was witnessed by Matt Dengler, Dick Stuntz and Jerry Levy.
