Tiegreen powers Veritas

? The Veritas Christian girls basketball team won for the first time in its third and final game at the West Nodaway Holiday Tournament.

The Eagles dispatched Craig (Mo.), 57-39, on Friday.

“This is the first time we’ve put four complete quarters together,” Veritas coach Kevin Shelton said.

Forward Kristie Tiegreen led the way Friday with 32 points, 22 rebounds and six blocks.

Caroline Mayhew and Taelyr Shelton keyed a full-court press that kept Craig from finding its rhythm.

Veritas improved to 3-4 and will play next at Topeka Cair Paravel on Jan. 9.
