CU games cancelled

? A storm that dumped more than two feet of snow in the foothills near Denver led to the cancellation of today’s men’s basketball game between Colorado and Texas Christian, Colorado’s second straight game wiped out because of weather.

Colorado also canceled its women’s game today against Houston.

“After all the efforts we made and with extensive communication with both institutions, we were extremely disappointed that our opponents on Saturday elected not to make their respective trips to Boulder,” said Tom McGann, CU’s director of game management.

Denver International Airport remained open through a snow storm that hit Denver Thursday and was expected to linger over the weekend. Airlines canceled hundreds of flights Friday because of the storm.

McGann said the highway to Boulder is open and the campus had been cleared in preparation for the men’s and women’s basketball games.
