Police continue to search for a suspect in the slaying of Osage County resident Tonie Standley, officials said Thursday.

While sheriff’s detectives in Osage County investigate the case, the cause of death has not been released and coroners have been instructed not to comment.

Hunters found Standley’s body Dec. 22 in rural Franklin County near the Osage-Franklin county line. Investigators said she had been murdered, based on information from interviews and a coroner’s report.

Standley was last seen alive Dec. 7 and had been reported missing.
