The city has announced dates that sanitation crews will be picking up live Christmas trees for recycling.

City crews will pick up trees that are set out at the curb Friday. Crews also will pick up trees Jan. 5 and Jan. 8.

The trees will be used as wildlife habitat in the area. The city asks that all lights, decorations, tinsel, ornaments and tree stands be removed.

People can place the trees where their trash is normally picked up. People served by Dumpsters should place the trees beside the Dumpster. The city suggests having trees set out by 6 a.m. to ensure pick-up.
