New York ? Rod Thorn is scanning the CBA, the NBDL and just about every other professional and amateur league in the world for someone to fill in for Nets center Nenad Krstic, who will miss the rest of the season after tearing his left ACL last week.

While Thorn is also keeping his eyes on big men throughout the NBA, the Nets’ president knows that anyone in the league whom he would want would come at a hefty price.

So, in all likelihood, the Nets will play the rest of the season with what they already have in the frontcourt.

Coach Lawrence Frank said he’s considering numerous frontcourt combinations, including Jason Collins and Mikki Moore, Collins and rookie Josh Boone or Boone and Moore. Saturday in Milwaukee, Frank went with just one big man – Collins – and the Nets got hammered, 115-104. Frank started an extra guard, Eddie House, who scored 22 points, but the Bucks outscored the Nets 44-30 in the paint.

No matter which direction Frank chooses to take, it will be tough for any of the Nets’ current players to match the productivity of Krstic, who was averaging 16.4 points and 6.8 rebounds when he hurt himself last week against the Lakers.
