The Lawrence Apple Users’ Group 2.0 will conduct a “Welcome to Macintosh” meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 3 in the community room at Signs of Life bookstore, 722 Mass.

Organizers are billing the meeting as catering to “the newbies,” folks who are new users of iPods, Macs or other such devices or programs – or simply want to learn more about them.

The group will have no formal presentation, but Mac experts and others will be available to provide tips and answer questions. Mac experts are invited to attend to share their knowledge.

People who can’t attend the meeting may submit questions in advance, and answers will be provided through the meeting’s podcast.
