For those vowing to have a better marriage in 2007, McGraw suggests setting a specific goal - such as spending more time together or improving communication - that addresses a problem in your relationship. Then create a timeline to help achieve the goal. If you want to spend more time together, find a few hours one night a week for a date night.
McGraw also points out that instead of trying to fix your marriage, a better approach is to think about how to be a better partner. Do a small act of kindness every day for your spouse and give at least one compliment a day. Most likely your partner will return your goodwill.
