Lawrence resident named to new board

? A Lawrence resident has been named by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to a new board that works on geographic information systems.

Richard Miller, who has a master’s degree in geography from Kansas University, was named along with 13 others to the Kansas Geographic Information Systems Policy Board.

“The individuals I’m appointing bring a wide range of experience and knowledge to the table,” Sebelius said Wednesday.

“Their input will help ensure the government operates effectively at all levels, and that information is shared efficiently,” she said.
