Boomers on the town

Boomers spend more per person on restaurant meals than any other age group, according to the National Restaurant Association. And according to the 2007 Zagat restaurant survey, they and other restaurant diners are spending even more now. Some key results:

¢ 83 percent of diners said they are eating out at least as often as they were two years ago.

¢ 72 percent said their biggest complaint about a restaurant was poor service.

¢ 67 percent said they are spending more per meal than last year.

¢ $39.43 was the average tab at a New York City restaurant, highest in the nation.
