Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Dec. 15, 1906: “Lawrence children who believe in Santa Claus should write their letters to the local post office and they will be forwarded to the World. Many will be printed in the Daily World to cut down on the time it would take to send them to the North Pole. : The North and Northwestern states are facing blizzard after blizzard and are running out of coal. The cold is raging and the railroads say they cannot get enough cars to deliver sufficient coal.”
