Seabury Academy splits on road

Melissa Burch scored five points and pulled down 23 rebounds as the Seabury Academy girls basketball team knocked off University Academy, 24-11, in a defensive struggle Friday night.

While the Seahawks (1-1) again struggled with turnovers, their advantage on the low blocks proved to be the difference.

In the boys game, Scotty King scored 10 points, one of two players in double figures, but it wasn’t enough in a 44-33 loss.

The setback dropped Seabury to 0-2 on the season.

Both squads will return to action next Friday at home against Colony Crest.
