Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Dec. 9, 1906: “The young woman who was robbed and beaten while working as the rail station agent in DeSoto is doing much better. There is now a theory she was attacked by a local person rather than a prison escapee, as first thought. : The new piano factory here, that of Weber Brothers Piano Co., is rapidly getting in shape to begin work. The old wire mill with its two floors and 80,000 square feet will not be a foot too large for the big operation. Already various stages of production are under way.”
