Milwaukee ? Bucks forward Bobby Simmons will undergo the first of two surgical procedures on his right foot on Dec. 18.

Bucks general manager Larry Harris said on Wednesday that it is not yet clear whether the surgeries will end Simmons’ season.

“He is going to be out an extended amount of time,” Harris said. “It hasn’t been determined how long.”

Harris said Simmons needs three separate procedures to correct his foot, which will be done in two installments. Simmons will have arthroscopic surgery Dec. 18, and a second procedure a few weeks later.

Simmons hurt his right heel in practice Oct. 9 and originally was expected to be out at least a month.

He averaged 13.4 points and 4.4 rebounds last season after signing with the Bucks as a free agent before last season.

The Bucks are more optimistic about the return of forward Charlie Villanueva, who tore a ligament in his elbow when he fell during a game in Atlanta Nov. 14.
