School board to discuss district’s capital needs

Lawrence’s school board will take another look at the capital needs of the district during a study session Monday.

The board plans to meet from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in the board room at the Educational Distribution and Service Center, 101 McDonald Drive.

The board got a first look at the capital needs during its regular meeting Nov. 27.

The board is considering improvements amounting to about $6 million that could be funded by the annual capital outlay mill levy, savings that remain from the 1998 school bond issue projects, expected savings from the 2005 school bond issue and through a possible performance contract arrangement involving energy conservation improvements.
