Week of ‘Guilty Pleasures’ ahead

They’re tacky, out of fashion, uncool and irresistible. They’re the “101 Guiltiest Guilty Pleasures” (8 p.m., E!), coming your way every night this week.

The term “guilty pleasure” has a proud pop-culture pedigree. Some decades back, cult director John Waters wrote a column in Film Comment celebrating cast-off movies by William Castle and Douglas Sirk, and Liz Taylor/Richard Burton bombs like “Boom,” as cultural touchstones. And many of these dreadful movies had a great deal more cultural resonance than big hits or well-reviewed “classics.”

¢ On a similar note, “Stars’ First Jobs” (8 p.m., TV Guide) asks celebrities to return to their first place of employment and work for a day. Hosted by Melissa Rivers, “Jobs” will follow Chandra Wilson (“Grey’s Anatomy”) as she scoops ice cream at a Baskin Robbins outlet and rap star Coolio as he wields a chain saw and toils for the California Conservation Corps. Has Rivers ever held a “real” job? Inquiring minds want to know.

¢ “Great Performances” (9 p.m., PBS) presents the 1967 “Jewels,” with choreography by George Balanchine and featuring music by Faure, Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky.

Tonight’s other highlights

¢ Michael and Lincoln hatch another scheme on “Prison Break” (7 p.m., Fox).

¢ Items with rumors of resonance are evaluated on “History Detectives” (8 p.m., PBS).

¢ The FBI expands the scope of the search on “Vanished” (9 p.m., Fox).
