Ready or not, it’s Emmy time
“Child Star Confidential” (4 p.m. today, E!) returns with a guilty-pleasure look at TV princesses, the femme fatales of the small screen who launched a thousand magazine spreads, gossip columns and “where are they now?” articles.
Former “Saved by the Bell” star Lark Voorhies sits down for an interview, which includes many glances back at stars Shannen Doherty, Tiffani Thiessen, Jessica Biel, Christina Applegate, Nicole Eggert, Claire Danes, Lisa Bonet, Keri Russell and Justine Bateman.
¢ Conan O’Brien hosts “The 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards” (7 p.m. Sunday, NBC). These festivities normally take place after Labor Day and coincide with the beginning of the fall season. This year is NBC’s turn to host the event, and NBC is locked into an expensive contract with the NFL to broadcast football games Sunday nights.
Would Hollywood reschedule the Oscars for a football game? In the past, the Oscars and the Emmys have been rescheduled because of national calamities. But a football game? I won’t take this chance to take cheap shots at NBC. I’m sure O’Brien will be doing plenty of that.
With that rant over, here are my picks.
