¢Seth and Lisa Martin, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Lola Annabelle Martin, born Aug. 14, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She has a brother, Rider Cash Martin, 2.

Maternal grandparents are Rick and Brenda Gammill. Paternal grandparents are Jan and Ulf Langgard, Jeff Martin and Sheryle D’Amico.

Great-grandparents are Todd and Ginger Lynch, Annabelle Martin and Helen Taylor.

Caitlin Hornbeck and Adam Nathan, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Leandra Joy Nathan, born Aug. 16, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Maternal grandparents are Amy Carr and Tracy Hornbeck. Paternal grandparents are Karla and Rich Nathan.

The annual Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant picnic dinner for all former employees and families will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 24 in Building 21 North at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St. The doors open at noon.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring a dish to serve at least 10 people, as well as bread, drinks and table service. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Tables and chairs are provided.

A donation of $1 per person to cover expenses, cost of copying, postage for mailers and cost of the building is suggested.

Help is needed to organize the program and food, assist with registration and/or clean up. Anyone who can help is asked to contact a committee member. Garden City Community College recently announced area students who made the honor roll during the spring 2006 semester by earning a 3.2-3.99 grade-point average. They are: Casey Coates, Baldwin; Bijai Jones, Lawrence; and Brianna Brown, Overbrook.

Paris Nottingham, Lawrence, placed in several categories during the American Quarter Horse Association Regional Experience May 4-7 in Tulsa, Okla. Among her honors were: third in Youth Trail, fifth in Novice Youth Hunt Seat Equitation, fifth in Youth Showmanship at Halter, sixth in Novice Youth Trail, sixth in Youth Hunter Under Saddle, eighth in Youth Geldings Three and Over, ninth in Youth Hunt Seat Equitation, and tenth in Youth Western Pleasure. She won the awards with her horse RL Top Knot. Jeanne Nottingham, Lawrence, claimed a reserve championship title in Open Senior Trail with RL Top Knot. Braxton Nottingham, Lawrence, claimed a championship title in Youth Western Pleasure with his horse IMA Potential Leager.
