Old home town – 100 years ago today

From the Lawrence Daily World for Aug. 17, 1906: “Another dog suspected of rabies was killed yesterday, at 512 Louisiana, the fifth such case this summer. : The Central Protective Assn. picnic drew more than 3,000 to Eudora yesterday and most of the top political candidates attended. Apparently, it was a good time for all. : Lawrence High School students who expect to enter Kansas University this fall are requested to present their certificates to the registrar as soon as possible. All local students can help out by enrolling as soon as possible to avoid the later crowding and confusion when non-Lawrence people come in.
