Raiders do it all in shutout victory

? The Lawrence Raiders made sure the home fans didn’t leave happy Friday night, pounding out a 15-0 victory over host Aberdeen (S.D.) in a winners bracket game at the Central Plains Regional.

The game was shortened to seven innings via the run rule.

The visitors scored twice in the top of the first inning and never let up, scoring in all but two innings while collecting 14 hits. Brian Heere, Brett Lisher, Scott Heitshusen, Lorenzo Ricketts and Andy Petz each had two hits for the Raiders, while Tyler Knight and Kyle Cross each picked up three RBIs.

Travis Blankenship, Daniel Green and Daren Parker combined to limit Aberdeen to just three hits, all singles. Green was credited with the win for his two innings of shutout relief.

Lawrence will return to action at 7:30 tonight in a winners bracket game against Rapid City (S.D.), which advanced with a 6-5 victory Friday over Eden Prairie (Minn.).
