Aromatic lavender provides large taste in small quantities

Description: Highly aromatic plant with a floral yet pinelike aroma. Both buds and leaves are used in the kitchen.

Season: Blooms in summer.

Use: Use in small quantities because its flavor quickly becomes overbearing. It’s especially suited to lamb and goat, and makes a good flavoring for ice cream. Mixes well with honey. Also works in teas, lemonade, salads, hearty soups, vinaigrettes and baked goods such as shortbread, sponge cake or pound cake.
