Crew works to repair water main break
A city utilities crew at 10:15 p.m. Saturday was still trying to repair a water main break near 23rd and Vermont streets.
Drivers encountered a large pool of water near 23rd and Massachusetts streets at 5:30 p.m. Saturday as the water was draining from the street. Emergency dispatchers then notified the city’s utilities department of the problem.
On Saturday evening, the crew had dug a hole along 23rd Street. A city utilities dispatcher said he was unaware late Saturday if any water systems for residents were disrupted.
A possible cause for the break was also unavailable Saturday night, he said.
