To the editor:

In a recent article in the Journal-World, it was stated that the Kansas University athletic department kept its promise that the plan for the new football facility would not block the view from the stadium to the hill.

This statement amazed me.

Surely the university administration did not have to exact a promise from the AD to not block the view – as if it were a possibility it might be done. The administration surely made it clear to the AD that blocking the view was not an option. The athletic department should not be taking credit for something it was forbidden to do. If they were not forbidden, then the administration should be embarrassed by the entire matter.
