Boston catcher leaves with left knee injury

? Boston Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek left Monday night’s game in the third inning with a twisted left knee and will be re-evaluated Tuesday.

The club gave no indication of how long he would be sidelined.

In the second inning against the Cleveland Indians, Varitek rounded the base after taking second on Coco Crisp’s single. He stepped gingerly on his way back to second then scored on Wily Mo Pena’s triple.
