A proposed 22 percent increase in student tuition at state universities the coming fall semester should be pared back to 15 percent or the extra money should be used for the following year, the Kansas House Ways and Means Committee declared. The Senate Ways and Means Committee had approved the full 22 percent but there was strong opposition to the higher figure among members of the House.
