KU gets no hits

? Cornhusker starter Ashley DeBuhr earned her second no-hitter of the season, and the Kansas University softball team fell, 1-0, Wednesday night at Nebraska’s Bowlin Stadium.

DeBuhr started the game hot, striking out the first seven Jayhawks to come to the plate. She notched 16 strikeouts in a complete game.

The game’s lone run came in the Huskers’ half of the fourth. KU starter Kassie Humphreys gave up two straight hits, allowing Crystal Carwile to move into storing position. Kansas coach Tracy Bunge then pulled the plug on Humphreys, opting for Serena Settlemier, who gave up an RBI single to Nebraska’s Katie Linke.

Humphreys took the loss for KU and fell to 12-15.

The Jayhawks (36-8, 10-4 Big 12) will travel to Oklahoma for two games this weekend.
