Deadline approaches for disaster loans

May 15 is the deadline for farmers in Douglas, Franklin and Shawnee counties to apply for emergency disaster loans.

Loans covering physical and/or production losses may be made at 3.75 percent interest, and may be used to buy feed, seed, fertilizer, livestock, equipment and buildings lost through what qualifies as a disaster.
