Police identify body from burning house

? Police on Monday released the name of a man whose body was found inside a burning house over the weekend, and ruled out foul play as the cause of death.

Firefighters discovered the body of Ronald E. Hannah, 49, when they responded to a call in Kansas City late Saturday.

Neighbors reported smoke coming from the house and firefighters found Hannah’s body when they were extinguishing the fire.

At the time, a police spokesman said officers considered the death suspicious. Homicide detectives were called to the scene, but officials said Monday that there was no foul play involved.

The cause of death will not be available until a toxicology report is complete in several weeks.

A relative told detectives he was with Hannah before the fire was reported and that Hannah was intoxicated and argumentative, police said. The relative also said several candles were lit because the house did not have electricity.
