Triathlon returning to Lone Star Lake

The Midwest Mayhem Triathlon will be back this summer at Lone Star Lake.

In January, Douglas County commissioners gave their blessing to the event, scheduled for July 22-23. More than 400 people are expected to participate, said Bill Marshall, president of KLM Marketing Solutions, which is organizing the triathlon.

It will be second year in a row for this event. KLM has met with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Public Works Department to start preparing for it. Representatives with the two departments said there were no major concerns about the race returning this year.

“We’ve worked out a couple of details based on our experience last year,” Marshall said, adding that last year’s event went well.
