Food was distributed to the following pantries: Ballard Community Center, ECKAN, First Baptist Church, Church of Christ, Leo Center, Pelathe Community Resource Center, Penn House, Trinity Episcopal Church and The Salvation Army. Units that participated included Cub Scout Packs 3013, 3052, 3055, 3057, 3058, 3071, 3077, 3370, 3072 and 3462, Boy Scout Troops 52, 59 and 62 and Venturing Crew 2052.
Cub Scout Pack 3059, chartered to First Presbyterian Church, will begin its 2006-07 recruiting campaign with the annual Cub Olympics from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 15 at the church. Boys currently enrolled in grades kindergarten through third are invited to attend, but must bring a parent or guardian with them. While Pack 3059 serves primarily those students who attend Schwegler and Wakarusa schools, all boys interested in joining Cub Scouts are welcome.
