Voters hit the polls April 4 in Lecompton to decide three City Council seats.

Bruce Liese and Ed Smith, the two candidates listed on the ballot, won seats on the council. Liese received 50 votes and Smith received 31, Douglas County Clerk Jamie Shew said.

A third candidate, Chuck Folks, won a seat as a write-in candidate with 21 votes, Shew said.

In all, 60 Lecompton residents voted in the elections. Shew said that represented a 15 percent turnout.
