¢ Heitzman Wins in Wichita: Paul Heitzman of Eudora won the over-70 age-group of the Easter Sun Run 10K Saturday in Wichita. Heitzman’s time of 48:57 was second overall in the age-graded Masters calculations.

¢ Stagg Low at JGC: Bud Stagg shot a 76 for the lowest recorded score in Saturday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar. Mike Naegele, Scott Buxton and Conrad Roberts all shot 77s. In net scoring, Randy Gebhards, Tim Grant and Jerry Garnett were low with 69s. Richard Brown and Don Schulenberg each carded a 71.

¢ Kolich Hole-in-One: Mary Kolich used a four-iron to ace the 145-yard No. 7 hole Tuesday at Alvamar Golf Course. Mark Kolich witnessed the shot.

¢ Kickball, Dodgeball: Organizational meetings for city adult summer kickball and dodgeball will be at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Community Building. For information, call 832-7920 or go to www.lprd.org.

¢ Orchards Scrambles: Orchards Golf Course will hold a Golden Oldies tournament May 3 and an open tourney May 13. Both are two-person 18-hole scrambles. Participants will be flighted. Also, a couples league is forming at the course. For information, call Ed White at 843-7456.

¢ Umpires Needed: The city is looking for umpires for summer youth baseball and softball. Hopefuls must be at least 16 years old and have a basic knowledge of the sports. If interested, call 832-7940.

¢ Orchards Holes-in-One: The No. 9 hole at Orchards Golf Course surrendered a pair of aces. On Friday, Matt Stewart used a 7-iron to the 125-yard hole. Two days later, Daniel Chance used an 8-iron for a hole-in-one. Chance’s witness was Steven Melton. Corey Haas and Nick Devin confirmed Stewart’s shot.

¢ Wilke Hole-in-One: Nathan Wilke used a sand wedge to ace the 97-yard No. 8 hole Wednesday at the Orchards Golf Course. Witnesses were Pat McKenna, Aaron Natalie and Thomas Byers.

¢ Bike Race: Team GP VeloTek and Revolution Racing are sponsoring the VeloTek Grand Prix bicycle race April 29 and 30. The Lance Armstrong Junior Olympic Race Series (LAJORS) event is free for junior cyclists.
