An outbreak of mumps continues to expand across Douglas County, now making up almost three-fourths of all mumps cases statewide. According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the state has received 104 reports of mumps cases, including 72 in Douglas County.

Those numbers include confirmed and suspected cases, and local health departments are investigating an additional 16 patients with potential symptoms.
