Women’s turkey hunt scheduled

Sixth annual event near Council Grove on tap this weekend

Many Kansas women have never experienced the thrill of hunting spring gobblers, so Wildlife and Parks will conduct its sixth annual Spring Turkey Hunt on Saturday near Council Grove.

Women hunters will be paired with volunteer guides. Participating hunters will be guided to area locations on public and private land in the Flint Hills. Program volunteers will arrange transportation to hunting sites and will assist in the hunt.

The event will also include door prizes, a turkey hunting presentation and a hunter’s breakfast and lunch. Pre-registration is required.
