The Kansas Board of Regents upped the ante in a battle over fee hikes at its institutions, settling on a 22 percent increase for students the coming academic year. Also, the board was presented a proposed faculty salary increase package for fiscal year 1983 calling for a total of 17 percent more in pay and fringe benefits. Both actions got 8-1 approval by the Regents. The increase was to mean an additional $62 a semester for students enrolling at KU the coming fall. The current in-state fee was $380 a semester.
