The Lawrence Schools Foundation is now accepting nominations for The Vicki Larason Landman Memorial. The award honors an outstanding teacher who works to develop students’ potential beyond traditional limits set for boys or girls.

Landman died in a boating accident in 1973.

“(She) was dedicated to equal opportunity in education and encouraging students to pursue whatever goals their talents and interests inspired,” Nan Harper said.

Nominees can be any part-time or full-time teachers at an elementary or junior high school in the Lawrence district.

Nomination forms are available at all Lawrence elementary and junior high schools, at the district service center or by sending an e-mail to the foundation at sesau@usd497.org.

The forms are due at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
