Pull out your tank tops, shorts and flip-flops again - Lawrence's temperature will reach nearly 90 degrees today, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

"It's going to be a very warm afternoon," Schack said. "Temperatures will be about eight degrees warmer than yesterday."

Schack said today's high will soar up to 89 degrees, which is a degree shy of the record for this date. The average high temperature for this date is 67 degrees. The record high was 90 degrees, set in 1936.

At 7 a.m., Lawrence's temperature was 55 degrees, the humidity was 74 percent and winds were from the south at southeast at 6 mph, making the windchill 54 degrees.

Today's morning low was 50 degrees. The average low temperature for this date is 45 degrees. The record low was 23 degrees, set in 1950.

Winds will be from the south at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph and clear skies, she said.

It's tough to tell an accent when the speaker's mouth is full of dirt.

I don't like it that the temps are getting this high this early in the year. Probably means that when the regular tornado season hits, it's going to be really bad.

nice job on predicting the high for the day...little bit off on this one. 92 at 6:15pm? Then again, it is Kansas!

Thanks for the ad. I'll let you know if I get any response.

Actually, it's an old rugby nickname. Compared to some of them, I got off light.

Yes, you are right, I would.

I would check with Wally World. I know what you are talking about, and if anybody would have such a contraption, it would be them.

whew, thanks for being your straight man wonderhorse! but, seriously, these really exist, maybe not called that, and btw, wouldn't you rather have a "personal mistress" than a personal Mrs.?

I'd rather have a "personal missus", thanks just the same.
