Seabury routed in opener, 7-0

? Coach Gunar Harmon had hoped for a better showing from his Seabury Academy soccer team in its season opener Tuesday.

But Seabury suffered a 7-0 shellacking at St. James Academy.

“They had a lot of talent,” Harmon said. “I was expecting that we would have been a little more competitive.”

Seabury should have opened the season Thursday, but the game was canceled because of the threat of severe weather.

St. James already had played five games, and Harmon said it showed

“It was pretty evident that they had more all-year-round soccer players than we did,” Harmon said.

Seabury (0-1) will travel Thursday to Leavenworth Immaculata.
